We Are Expecting!!!

Bob and I are excited to announce we are expecting a little girl due May 27, 2014.  As of today, I am tracking at 16 weeks, 6 days.  We've told our friends and family our news around October and the gender over Thanksgiving.  Everyone is very happy for us.  The second trimester is proving to be MUCH better than my first trimester as I was pretty sick.  Now, I'm just waiting for this little girl to start making my belly grow large!

The Last Popsoon

The Last Popsoon

 

My most favorite soup is the one my grandmother makes for me. Our family has been calling it Popsoon, although I can't find any information about it online. On a recent trip to visit my grandmother, she made me a big pot of popsoon and it may be our last as we believe "they" have discontinued making egg farvel - one of the 5 ingredients of this soup. Trust me, I will be on a hunt in the near future to try to uncover more farvel or find a recipe to make them.

Last Hoorah Before Michigan Move

This year, Bob and I took time with family members before we moved from Chicago to lower Michigan.  My mother and grandmother visited with us in Chicago and we had a great time downtown Chicago enjoying a nice dinner.   We also spent a week with our Yooper family at my father's house and canal property and at Bob's family cottage on Lake Superior.  Another great vacation!
